Round 2: a smaller ask, built to get replies.

Round 1: 10,653 sent, 0 real replies. Same platform, new ask.

What was wrong with round 1

  1. The ask was too big. A 2 week trial, from a stranger.
  2. A yes from a work inbox is a risk. It tells their employer "I'm looking".
  3. Subjects said "job search" in the inbox list, for anyone (and IT) to see.
  4. Nothing to see first. Your August reply asked for relevant opportunities before starting the trial.
  5. Most of the list isn't actively looking.

No angle beat another, so it's these shared things, not the angle.

What round 2 changes

  1. One word to reply: "send". Deniable too: "for you or maybe your friend".
  2. Off the work inbox: they can reply with a personal email.
  3. Value first: 5 roles that pay more than most, posted this week. The trial comes after.
  4. Neutral subjects: "quick one", "hey {first name}".
  5. People more likely looking first: 57 employers with layoffs, WARN notices or mergers since April, about 39,000 people.

The five emails

About 1,500 people each. The first one that gets replies takes all the volume.

A. Five matching roles

A2. Five roles, for you or a friend

A3. Same offer, asked as a question

B. One application, done for them

C. Know someone looking?

What we need from you

  1. 5 roles within 24 hours of a "send": posted that week, paying above the usual range, matching any title or remote they asked for.
  2. One tailored application sent within a day or two for B.
  3. The $25 referral: confirm it pays when the referred person signs up.
  4. Copy: edits, or "approved".

Next step

  1. You approve and confirm the above in Slack.
  2. We load round 2 the same day. Round 1 pauses so round 2 gets the full volume.
  3. First read within two days. You see every real reply word for word.
